The Elf is a spirit genius of Norse mythology.
The Elves are symbols of the forces of air, fire, Earth, water and atmospheric phenomena in General.
They are similar to humans, spirits high and thin but strong and fast, clean, serene face, slightly pointed ears. Are described with a great view and a very sensitive hearing.
They have beards, they mostly blonde hair and light eyes that penetrate the person is said to know the thoughts, is said to have telepathy.
Have wonderful voice and clear. They are intelligent and harmonious, with great respect to the four elements and for nature.Sometimes some can be capricious and sometimes benevolent man who respects them, can donate magic items to those who are pure in heart and spirit and wanting to help.
Know how to forge swords and metals, to the knowledge of magic.
Their companions, in contrast, are beautiful beings. Originally, it seems that the Elves were conceived as the souls of the deceased, then were revered as favoring powers the fecundity.
Hence the distinction, in Norse mythology, between Døkkálfar, "Dark Elves", and Liósálfar, "light Elves".
They live mainly in trees or in some hidden forests. Do not damage never and in no way nature because for them it is basic part of their lives and existence.
Have a high regard for nature, conceived as an entity, an etheric spirit, mother of all beings.They manage to walk without leaving a trace, immune to disease, can withstand extreme temperatures. The elves have long life getting old without their beauty is affected by time.
Are said to be immortal but not invulnerable, and thus could be killed.There are many legends associated with this mythological figure, some of which speak of the evil that they do in respect of men and abductions of children. The elves have a strong head of the hierarchy which are the Queens and Kings of the hills of the fairies, recognizable because they often covered with a fresh blanket of hawthorns.
Shakespeare in his plays often spoke of the elves, as in the play a Midsummer night's dream.
